POS•IM Connect is a management solution for businesses with more than one retail location. It allows your store information to flow between the POS•IM Premier individual store databases to a central (corporate) database. This information being passed gives the central site the ability to monitor the activities and needs of each individual store.
POS•IM Connect helps you perform the daily operational functions that become overwhelming in a multi store environment.
At the individual store, Connect gives the ability to locate needed merchandise, or transfer items to other locations. In addition it gives the manager powerful management tools and reporting capabilities to help them keep control of the business while helping it grow.
To ensure good internal control and safe guarding of the entity's assets it is important that deposits made by remote sites be verified as soon as possible. POS•IM Multi-Site makes this possible. Individual and consolidated ending tills information is presented to allow management to control the flow of cash and cash equivalents. Deposits, over/short, credit card summaries, and other methods of payments are presented along with summaries of sales point transactions.
If the customer wants the item, never lose the sale because you don't know if any other store in the group has it. The item status, which includes available, on hand, committed, and on order will be visible at all locations for all other active locations. Item status can be obtained by List All's in either Sales Point or Inventory Analyzer.
Creating, changing, maintaining and removing items and vendors at each remote store can be a large headache. POS•IM Connect makes it easy. POS•IM Connect lets you manage remote and central sites by creating worksheets that are timed and addressed to all or selected sites.
POS•IM uses Sun Message Queue (SMQ) to communicate between each location and to allow you to see the near real time status of your database. SMQ, a technology used by Fortune 500 companies, is ideal because it uses any TCP/IP base Internet or network connection to send Multi-Site Data, such as transfers, item cards, and vendor cards as messages to your central location. One major benefit of using SMQ is it's Fault Tolerance feature. If your connection goes down messages are stored until a connection is made again, and then the messages will be sent. SMQ guarantees the messages, your data, gets to its destination.
The power of any Multiple Store program becomes apparent in it's reporting capability. POS•IM Multi-Site has a series of comprehensive management reports that provide you individual store and combined totals. Each store's data is available centrally, thus making individual store reports as easy as if you were at the store. POS•IM Central database supports open database connectivity (ODBC) for third party software access.
Insuring that transfers of inventory items between locations is properly controlled and managed is a big worry for many multi-site groups. POS•IM Multi-Site's transfer features make that control second nature with its automated transfer and tracking features. POS•IM Multi-Site supports transfers from warehouse to remote site, as well as remote site to remote site. A site may request a transfer from another site, or it may initiate the transfer, which is transmitted immediately.
Please note: XP Home will not work will in a multiple computer environment. It was not designed for a business strength network.
